"But did you always want to be an artist?"
"I don’t really know. Did I want to be an artist when I was four? Yeah, sort of, but I had a totally different idea of what an artist might be then than I’ve got now. I always considered myself quite artistic. I wrote a hell of a lot of naff poetry when I was a teenager, but most of it is about what you don’t want to do. I mean, I never liked getting out of bed in the morning. I never really had a proper job – I had lots of jobs, but none which required me to get out of bed five days a week in the morning. I think that had a lot to do with wanting to be an artist."
