Fotografie versus Schilderen en vice versa - het blijft een hot topic. Op PhotoQ gaat het door criticus Hans den Hartog Jager aangezwengelde debat onverwijld door, David Hockney verhit de Engelse gemoederen door fotografie dull te noemen, en vandaag lanceert Artnet's Jerry Saltz een achtenveertig maanden durend verbod op het gebruik van fotografie in de schilderkunst:
"Call this the Richter Resolution, the Polke Principle or the Tuymans Rule. Whatever you call it, it means that photographs, film stills, snapshots or whatever may be used as starting points, references or inspiration, but for the next four years let's pretend there's a ban against the use of mechanical devices to replicate these images in paintings."
