Her popular pieces, Ma gouvernante - My Nurse - mein Kindermädchen and Déjeuner en Fourrure, received much appraisal and criticism. Unfortunately, these controversies did not influence her to create. Ironically, popularity and being in the spotlight only depressed Oppenheim. She began to doubt herself and her artistic ability and she lost her direction."
