Martin Kippenberger, foto: Albrecht Fuchs

"And if Kippenberger, for all the analysis and myth-making, remains an oddly unquantifiable figure, that is what makes him interesting. It is his awkwardness, his prickly refusal to be confined or to offer easy conclusions that makes his apparently cranky experimentation worthwhile. In an age when so much of the difficulty of modern art has been comfortably absorbed by the mainstream, Kippenberger may yet prove to have been art's last real rebel."

> Modern art is rubbish en Was this hyperactive punk the last real rebel in art?
